Access hours: The archives are available by appointment only to qualified researchers. The museum is happy to provide copies of photographs for both commercial and non-commercial use. Please inquire via email or phone.

The museum is open Sundays in April, Saturdays and Sundays in May, daily Memorial Day through Labor Day, Saturdays and Sundays in September and October plus Columbus Day, Sundays in November plus Saturday November 4 and 26, Saturdays and Sundays in December through the 17th.

Collection Description: Founded to preserve the unique heritage of an endangered species -- the trolley car -- it now boasts a collection of nearly 100 vintage vehicles as well as artifacts and documents from the trolley era. The Shore Line Trolley Museum operates the Branford Electric Railway, a National Historic Site. The railway is the oldest continuously operating suburban trolley line in the United States. In addition, the museum archives contain nearly 30,000 photographic images, over 4,000 books and documents, and about 1,000 small artifacts such as tokens, hat badges and ticket punches.
