Collection
Description: The Society has an archive containing documents, photos, and other materials relating to the history of Bloomfield and two of its notable products: drums and tinware.
The Society operates three properties: The Old Farm School, a two-story brick schoolhouse built in 1796, is the town’s oldest public building. The Southwest District School was built of local traprock in 1858. This one-room building served as a school until 1923. The Captain Oliver Filley House, built by Captain Oliver Filley in 1834, is a dramatic traprock stone farm house on 145 acres that have been farmed for more than 200 years.
Keywords: Drums, tinware.
