Collection Description:Chester is a nineteenth century mill town with many features, such as a mill, factories, and workers’ homes, still intact. The Historical Society occupies the old Town Meeting House and owns the C.L. Griswold factory building. Artifact holdings include products of local manufacturing companies, clothing, and textiles. Archival and manuscript holdings include photographs, manuscripts, account books, local business advertising, trade catalogs and cards, posters, programs, Town Annual Reports, newspapers, postcards, and diaries.
