Access hours: Open every Saturday and the first Sunday of each month between May and December. We will remain open on the second and fourth Saturdays of January through March. Our hours are 12 noon until 4 P.M. If necessary we will open by appointment; call the museum number.

Collection Description: A full description of the Society’s holdings is on-line at: http://www.brookfieldcthistory.org/page_Research.html. Holdings include newspapers, maps, deeds, diaries, tax records, cemetery records, photographs, and a strong collection of secondary materials. The Society’s library is particularly strong in Civil War material. The museum contains more than 13,000 dated and catalogued artifacts such as china, quilts, and tools. In addition to the museum, the Society maintains an historical garden and is presently working on making Gurski’s blacksmith forge open to the public in 2008.
